"Control audio via OBS/Streamlabs" is a useful setting inside OBS or Streamlabs that lets you control the audio of your Sound Alerts browser source inside your streaming software.
Sadly, this option can cause a bug, where the audio of the Sound Alerts browser source isn't processed correctly and can cause various adverse effects.
What effects does this bug cause?
This bug can cause a broad spectrum of unwanted influences on the audio of your Sound Alerts browser source, which makes it hard sometimes to differentiate it from other audio issues.
These are the issues the bug can cause:
- No audio at all
- Your alerts get suddenly cut off
- Your alerts sound distorted
- You hear an echo
- The volume is not correct
How do I fix it?
Try turning it off and on again! Sometimes, the common Streaming Solutions get hung up and restarting them suddenly makes things work again. Additionally, you may want to double check your Monitor and Output Settings, as they start doing their Magic when the option is turned on.
If that doesn't help, the only way to fix this bug is to avoid it by disabling the "Control audio via OBS/Streamlabs" in your streaming software.
For OBS
If you are using OBS, double-click on your Sound Alerts browser source to open the settings. After that, disable "Control audio via OBS".
For Streamlabs
If you are using Streamlabs, double-click on your Sound Alerts browser source to open the settings. After that, disable "Control audio via Streamlabs"
The audio is still causing problems
