What can the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension do?
The Sound Alerts Twitch Extension is an interactive soundboard that viewers can control. It allows you to set up various kinds of alerts for Bits to monetize your stream, which are fully customizable using your own media files and stream design or the huge Sound Alerts Library.
Available Alert Types
The Sound Alerts Twitch Extension supports various types of alerts, including:
- Sound Alerts
- Video Alerts
- Video Share Alerts (let your viewers activate videos in your stream)
- Text-to-Speech Alerts (include a voice that will read viewer messages)
All of these options are compatible with or without Bits. You can also customize whether some alerts should be exclusive to your Twitch Subs.

Activating the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension
Activating the Extension takes less than five minutes; simply follow these steps:
- Visit the Sound Alerts setup page in the Dashboard.
- Click "Install Extension on Twitch" and visit our Extension store page.
- Select "Install" in the top right and make sure to select a slot in the bottom right as well to make it appear on your channel (Panel 1 is the standard choice — you can change this at any time.)
- Return to the Sound Alerts Dashboard and create your first Extension alerts.

Placement of the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension
There are three options to place your Sound Alerts Twitch Extension:
- Panel — The Sound Alerts Twitch Extension will appear in the panel slot under your livestream.
- Component — The Sound Alerts Extension will only appear when you are live and can accessed via a smaller button on the right side of your livestream player.
- Overlay — The Sound Alerts Extension will only appear when you are live and can be accessed via a big icon on the top left of your stream player.
Regardless of your slot, your mobile viewers can always access the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension via a small icon above the chat. Our Twitch Extension is directly embedded into the official Twitch app on iOS and Android.
Extension Profiles
Extension profiles allow you to create alert sets that you can easily swap in and out based on the game you are playing or the category you are streaming in. You can save profiles via the button at the top right of your Extension alert settings and manage all your profiles via the button beside that.

Changing the Color of your Sound Alerts Twitch Extension
The standard color of the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension is purple, but you can change the color to match your stream design. Simply visit the Dashboard settings. There are thirteen colors available.

Adapting the Twitch Extension Cooldown
To increase or reduce the frequency at which your viewers can activate alerts via the Extension, visit the Dashboard settings and adjust the "Extension Cooldown" to a time of your choice.
