This guide will explain everything you need to know to start with the Sound Alerts Scene Editor — our all-in-one stream overlay solution. If you want to learn more about a particular widget or overlay, use our dedicated widget guides in the Help Center.
What is the Sound Alerts Scene Editor?

The setup is compatible with any streaming tool that supports web or browser sources, such as OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, Lightstream, Xsplit, and more.
Which Overlays are available in the Sound Alerts Scene Editor?

- Subathon overlay
- Emote Wall and Celebration overlay
- Viewer Count overlay

Scene Editor Setup Requirements & Setup
You need two things to start your Scene Editor journey:
- A free Sound Alerts account
- A streaming setup with OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, or any other tool that supports the implementation of a web/browser source
After ensuring you have both of these, you can simply visit the Scenes tab of our Dashboard and click "+Add new Scene" to initiate the setup. After that, follow these steps:
- Select "Add Widget+" on the top left and add any overlay you want to your scene.
- Use the settings on the left side, along with drag and drop, to adjust the style and position of your overlay (the screen you see is your stream view).
- Click "Save" on the top right when your scene is ready. Completing that process will unlock the "Copy Source URL" button on the top right. You need to copy this URL into a web/browser source in your broadcast tool (OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, etc.), and your overlays will appear on your stream.

Advanced Tips for using the Sound Alerts Scene Editor
To finish the guide, we want to mention some of the advanced capabilities of our Scene Editor:
- Many overlays include the option to use Custom CSS to style them. The button to open them is on the bottom left side of the overlay settings in the left sidebar.
- You can test widgets dependent on alerts or chat messages via the buttons in the bottom center of the Scene Editor by simulating actions to see what it would look like if you were live.
- Suppose you want to have the same overlay experience across multiple scenes. In that case, you can also import and export widget configurations from other scenes by using the buttons in the settings or while adding new widgets.
