🔧 What Are Random Sound Alerts?

Random Sound Alerts let you group multiple sounds into a single alert. When the alert is triggered — either through Channel Points, Bits, or other methods — one sound is randomly selected and played.

It's a great way to add variety and unpredictability to your stream interactions!

🎲How to Create Random Sound Alerts with Individual Volume Control

With Random Sound Alerts, you can make your stream even more engaging by playing a surprise sound from a pool of multiple sound files. This guide walks you through creating a Random Sound Alert, customizing its settings, and controlling the volume of each individual sound.

🚀 Getting Started

  1. Log in to your Sound Alerts Account.

  2. Click on the My Alerts tab.

  3. You'll land on the Extensions section by default.

  4. Click Add a New Button.

  5. From the alert type dropdown, select Random Sound.

This creates a new alert that randomly plays media from a customizable list each time it's triggered.

The limit for the media list of Random Alerts is 30 sounds/videos.

🎵 Creating Your Random Sound List

Once your Random Sound Alert is created, you'll see it always consist of sounds from one of your sound profiles

Here's what you can do next:

  • Add or Remove Media: Expand your sound pool with new uploads or remove ones you no longer want.

  • Replace List: You can replace lists with your saved sound profiles.

  • Customize Each Sound:

    • Adjust the volume of each individual sound using the built-in sliders.

    • Edit the duration if needed.

  • Modify Alert Settings:

    • Personalize the chat notification message your viewers see when the alert plays.

💡 Pro Tip: Keep your sound volumes consistent to avoid jarring transitions between soft and loud clips.

🎯 Random Alert Rarities

You can now assign rarities (Common, Uncommon, and Rare) to each media file in your Random Sound Alerts. This allows you to control how often certain sounds or videos appear during your stream — adding more surprise and variety to your alerts.

Here’s how rarity affects appearance chances (Approximately):

  • Common = 1 / {numMedia}

  • Uncommon = 1 / {numMedia} × 2

  • Rare = 1 / {numMedia} × 4

Example:
If your list includes 10 sounds:

  • Common = 1/10

  • Uncommon = 1/20

  • Rare = 1/40

This means rarer sounds will appear less frequently — making each one feel more special when it triggers!

🎉 Job Done!

You now have a working Random Sound Alert with fully customizable settings and individual volume control. This simple feature brings extra energy and surprise to your stream — and your viewers will love it.
