Enabling Cheer alerts and highlighting your loyal community supporters will help you keep track of all the Bits activities on your channel. This guide will show you how to do that using the tool Sound Alerts.

What are Cheer Alerts?

Cheers are an event type on Twitch that is activated when viewers send you their Bits (a virtual good you can buy on Twitch). Cheering is always connected to particularly highlighted chat messages and can only be used on channels with the Affiliate or Partner status. Cheer alerts combine these events with a video/sound notification on your stream that helps you recognize the viewer who used Bits and supported your channel. Using the settings, you can set up multiple Cheer alerts for different Bits numbers.

How do I set up Cheer Alert?

Make sure to complete the initial Sound Alerts setup steps before starting to create your Cheer alert. After that, follow this guide:

  1. Visit the "My Alerts" section of your Dashboard and click on "Other Alerts".
  2. Click "+Add new Alert Event" and select "Cheering"

  1. The right side of your screen shows you the alert settings now — adjust the animation, sound, chat notification, number of Bits, or Text-to-Speech settings based on your preferences (we'll explain these settings in detail below).
  2. After completing the customization, test your alert in your streaming software using the "Test in browser source" button.
  3. Congratulations, your Cheer alert is ready.

A standard Sound Alerts account can create up to three Cheer alerts for different Bits numbers.

Customizing your Cheer Alert

We offer a huge bandwidth of customization options for your Cheer alert on Twitch:

  • Bits Settings: Select the minimum number of Bits for your alert.
  • Animation Settings: This setting allows you to edit the visual part of your Cheer alert — you can upload your own GIFs/videos here or choose to use/create an alert animation with our Animation Store and Editor.
  • Sound Settings: This setting lets you edit the sound that your viewers can hear when the Cheer alert appears. Choose one from the huge Sound Alerts Library or upload your own sound files. Adding multiple sounds will randomize the effect.
  • Chat Notification: Use this setting to add a chat notification sent by the Sound Alerts Chatbot whenever the alert is activated. You can customize the text element with variables.
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS): Our TTS Announcement lets you add a voice to your alert that will read out the name of the viewer who sent the Cheer after the alert sound ends. You can choose between different voice styles and edit the text using variables.
