Raids on Twitch are among the most common tools to support other content creators and their streams. This guide will show you how to set up Raid alerts for your Twitch livestream in a few simple steps.

How do Raid Alerts work?

A Raid happens when another streamer decides to send their viewers to your stream. Using Raid alerts, you can add a visual/sound notification to your stream that appears every time someone raids your channel. This process helps you efficiently recognize other streamers, the number of transferred viewers, and their Raids.

How do I set up a Raid Alert?

Make sure to complete the initial Sound Alerts setup steps before starting to create your Raid alert. After that, begin with these steps:

  1. Visit the "My Alerts" section of your Dashboard and click on "Other Alerts".
  2. Click "+Add new Alert Event" and select "Raid"

  1. The right side of your screen shows you the alert settings now — adjust the animation, sound, chat notification, or Text-to-Speech settings based on your preferences (we'll explain these settings in detail below).
  2. After completing the customization, make sure to test your alert in your streaming software by using the "Test in browser source" button.
  3. Congratulations, your Twitch Raid alert is good to go.

Customizing your Raid Alert

When you set up your Raid alert with Sound Alerts, there are various customization options to choose from — these are the most essential ones available to you:

  • Minimum Viewer Settings: This setting lets you choose the minimum number of viewers needed for the Raid alert to appear.
  • Animation Settings: This setting allows you to edit the visual part of your Raid alert — you can upload your own GIFs/videos here or choose to use/create an alert animation with our Animation Store and Editor.
  • Sound Settings: This setting lets you edit the sound that your viewers can hear when the Raid alert appears. Choose one from the huge Sound Alerts Library or upload your own sound files. Adding multiple sounds will randomize the effect.
  • Chat Notification: Use this setting to add a chat notification sent by the Sound Alerts Chatbot whenever the alert is activated. You can customize the text element with variables.
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS): Our TTS Announcement lets you add a voice to your alert that will read out the Raid details after the alert sound ends. You can choose between different voice styles and edit the text using variables.

You can use all these options in different combinations or all at once — try to experiment with the settings to see what your viewers like.
