Showcasing your emotes in your stream can add a unique twist to your overlays and the look and feel of your show. This guide will show you how to set up the Emote Wall widget with Sound Alerts.

What is the Emote Wall Overlay?

Our Emote Wall lets you add a transparent overlay layer to your stream that visualizes the emotes used within your chat in real time. The widget is compatible with all popular streaming tools, such as OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, or other solutions. The setup requires no prior technical knowledge and can be done in a few minutes via the Sound Alerts Scene Editor.

Adding the Emote Wall to your Stream

Here are the steps to follow to add the Emote Wall overlay to your stream:

  1. Visit the Sound Alerts Scene Editor.
  2. Click "+ Add new Scene" in the top right or select one of your existing scenes.
  3. Select "Add Widget +" in the top left and click on "+Add" for the "Emote Wall".
  4. Use the settings on the left side to adjust the animation type and change the size/position of the Emote Wall via drag and drop.
  5. You can preview emotes via the "Emulate Chat Message" button at the bottom center.
  6. After that, select "Save" in the top right and enter a name for your scene.
  7. Now click "Copy Source URL" in the top right. You can add this browser source URL to OBSStreamlabs Desktop, or other tools by adding it to your source list as a "Browser" or "Web" source and pasting the link.
  8. Your Emote Wall will now display on your stream once you go live and the scene with the browser source is selected.
